Are you looking for a new field in which to apply your sales and leadership skills? This is one that ought to be at the top of your list.
Since 2000 and the successful completion of the Genome Project by scientists around the world, some scientists are beginning to predict that by the end of this century the human life span will have been increased to 150 years from the current 80.
Other, more conservative medical researchers are ridiculing such a claim, saying that the human body is simply not capable of living that long.
The more radical researchers are, of course, thinking 'outside the box' and saying that with the information they now possess, it will not be long before new organs (the skin is the largest organ) and body parts will be able to be grown from your own cells i.e no problem with rejection. And of course they remind us that this is not at all outlandish since the average lifespan in 1900 was about 46 years.
What's this got to do with you and me?
New drugs, new procedures, new industries, new opportunities will be opening up at unprecedented rates over the next decade. Opportunities in sales and service related to new medications, therapies, knowledge and applications. Because of the radical and transformative nature of the new discoveries, these will impact the entire world and not just the wealthy few. Every person on every continent will be able to benefit because the information will be un-patentable and the distribution problems associated with manufacturing in only a few locations, will be made obsolete.
I know this hasn't been as specific and skills oriented as some of my columns but I hope this information will inspire some of you to get connected with the BioTech Revolution if you aren't already there.
Many of our traditional industries are dying but many, many more are in their infancy. Get connected my friends the future is right around the corner.
